What you need to make homemade broth
Ingredients

- Uncooked chicken pieces including bones. I use the leftovers after deboning a chicken in this recipe.
- 1 onion
- 1 sticks of celery
- 1 carrot
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp of real salt
- 2 quarts of filtered water

How to make homemade chicken broth
Making homemade chicken broth is so easy you’ll be wondering why you haven’t made it sooner.
To begin start with the bones of a whole chicken and whatever meat is left after deboning. Learn how to debone a chicken like a pro here. You can use it to make this delicious Chicken Fricassee or this comforting Chicken and Dumpling Soup.

Next, cut onion, celery, and carrots in half. Add the vegetables and the chicken to a stock pot along with the garlic and salt and cover with water.

Bring the broth to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, turn down the temperature to low and allow to simmer for at least 30 minutes and up to 2 hours.
Notes

The broth will get this gray film on top, remove it before allowing it to simmer.
How to store homemade chicken broth?
After it is done cooking, allow it to cool before straining and storing in mason jars.

Use it right away or store it in the fridge for up to two weeks without opening the jar.

The warmth of the broth will create a seal in the lid, especially after storing it in the fridge.
